Philosophy
The wood is our muse and our palette; its shapes and colors speak to those who listen.
— Lawrence Gordon
At Gordon Woodworks, we believe that nature provides everything we need — if we listen.
Our materials come not from deforestation, but from fallen trees, respectfully reclaimed and repurposed into timeless, handcrafted furniture.
We embrace each tree’s imperfections and uniqueness, creating pieces that carry forward its story. Every knot, curve, and grain is preserved with care, because true character isn’t manufactured — it’s revealed.
But our commitment doesn’t stop at the workshop. What remains after building — offcuts, shavings, and fragments — feeds new life.
Through our sister company, Shinto Shrooms, we use those remnants to grow gourmet and medicinal mushrooms. What begins in the forest becomes food, function, and meaning.

Our Full-Circle Philosophy
“Every piece we craft and every fragment we reuse carries a purpose. In honoring what nature gives, we create not just furniture, but meaning.”
This is our full-circle philosophy:
Use what nature offers
Sourcing materials responsibly from fallen trees and natural sources
Waste nothing
Every fragment finds purpose, from furniture to mushroom cultivation
Honor commitments
Building relationships that strengthen local ecosystems and economies
Let every part serve a purpose
From tree to table, from offcut to nourishment – complete utilization
