“On the water, everything is in motion — we wanted something that felt grounded.”

The Story

When you live part of your life on a yacht, you start to think differently about space. Every piece has to earn its place, not just functionally, but emotionally. There’s no room for clutter, and certainly no space for compromise. That’s exactly why we turned to Gordon Woodworks. I had been following their work for years — quietly admiring the elegance of their pieces, the patience in their craft. There’s a humility in their design, a kind of strength that isn’t showy, but certain. We commissioned a Dining Table — not just for meals, but for stories, games, morning coffees, and late-night conversations under the stars. The process with Gordon’s team was incredibly thoughtful. They listened. They asked questions we hadn’t even considered. Every element of the table from the proportions to the base to the finish, was tailored not only to the boat, but to the life we live on it. It’s solid, but not bulky. Elegant, but not delicate. And somehow, in the middle of a space surrounded by water and metal and glass, this piece of wood brings us back to land. To something rooted.
